About Save Curley Park

Save Curley Park is a grassroots initiative exploring a simple idea:

What if the former Archbishop Curley-Notre Dame property became a public park?

As Miami continues to grow, large open spaces become increasingly rare. The former school site represents a unique opportunity to create a community park that could serve residents for generations.

Located near the historic Buena Vista neighborhood and surrounded by new homes, businesses, and community gathering spaces, the property sits at the center of one of Miami's fastest-evolving areas.

A thoughtfully designed park could provide:

  • Open green space

  • Walking and running paths

  • Native landscaping

  • Recreation areas

  • Community gathering spaces

  • Environmental benefits for the surrounding neighborhood

Once land is fully developed, opportunities like this rarely return.

The purpose of this project is to raise awareness, connect community members, and explore realistic paths toward preserving part or all of this site as public green space.

Creating a park would require substantial public support, collaboration with community leaders, and long-term planning. This website is the first step in that conversation.

If you believe Miami needs more parks, more trees, and more public gathering spaces, we'd love to hear from you.Through strategic collaboration with community leaders, universities, and private partners, the team leverages comprehensive research to optimize resources and maximize collective impact.
